Company History

From Humble Beginnings:

In 2021, four friends were looking for something more out of a gaming community. Tired of the power vacuums of typical virtual communities, and the restriction of a single simulator or aircraft type, Northern Reliable Transport was born.

Originating out of the Chicago Rockford International Airport the group aimed to have a fun, and new virtual airline experience where you could fly anything, go anywhere and do what you wanted in a minimalistic flying group. With just four members and a VATSIM callsign of “Reliable” the company soon began to grow, adding a few virtual pilots to the ranks.

Addition of Trucking:

As time moved on slowly the members of the community realized that they were all also interested in the American Truck Simulator franchise from SCS Games. When realizing this, and with some savvy photoshop skills, the NRT Ground Division was born!

Headquarters didn’t move from Rockford, IL for the flight team, but a new base of operations in Denver, CO (at the time the only major airport that was highlighted in ATS) was chosen as an additional hub just for the ground team. Service coverage for the United States began on June 2nd, 2021 with a few trucks and some group driving on TruckersMP.

Bridging the World

While NRT was preparing for the release of the highly anticipated Texas DLC and committing to Houston, TX as the new HQ location, operations began to build a platform which combines both the flight simulator and truck simulator worlds together in one interconnected space. This included the addition of a German base of operations alongside an addition of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Platform for ease of global logistics. NRT began to focus more on bridging the Atlantic one flight and 2 trucks at a time, as the founders became increasingly interested in opening the platform for more users.

The company began setting up a base of operations and opening a EU Division in Stuttgart, Germany. Chosen for it’s detailed airport at the time, and it’s central European location, allowing for easy access to the rest of the European continent. Operations between the continents began shortly after with NRT beginning to shift from a passenger airline focus to a charter cargo focus with passenger and VIP charters following soon after.

Custom Assets:

With the addition of the EU Division and game version 1.49 Released for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, the world of NRT was expanded as well, bringing in a variety of new things. Flag Trailers and specialty liveries, the addition of the company’s flagship Boeing 747-8F, 737-800BCF and 800X passenger aircraft, and the A320 passenger aircraft to the world within Truck Simulator.

Houston Custom Re-Work:

In addition to the reworking of in-game assets to display the NRT Branding, the CEO also commissioned the building of the Global Freight Port in Houston for American Truck Simulator. This asset moves the garage in Houston to the airport, providing access to the cargo ramp NRT calls home in Houston. With quick access to the aircraft, an FBO for VIP Operations, and Parking for trucks, it’s the perfect operations base for a company like NRT.
